I love visiting schools. As well as reading from my books I love sharing with children (and staff) the power and magic of oral storytelling. I'd like everyone to have the experience of being told a story (without a book or screen) at least once in their lives.

PRESENTATIONS
My presentations consist of reading from my books, a traditional oral story, and question time.
The presentations can last up to 50 minutes. And I offer a MAXIMUM of 3 presentations per day.
There is no limit on audience numbers for my presentations.
My current fee for a school visit (with 3 presentations) is £500 + VAT + travel expenses + accommodation.
STORYTELLLING
Very occasionally schools ask me to visit just to give a storytelling performance. This could be during assembly or in the evening as a fundraising event.
My current fee for a storytelling performance is £400 + VAT + travel expenses + accommodation.
EXPENSES
As I live in West Wales it usually takes me a day to travel to a school and a day to travel back. This means that I need 2 nights accommodation. Travel expenses can be as much as £200.
The exception to this is London where I usually don't need to charge for accommodation costs.
JOINT TOURS = SHARED EXPENSES
It works out much cheaper if I am booked by several schools/libraries at a time as they can share my accommodation and travel expenses.
PREPARATION
Before I visit your school teachers must have read and discussed at least one of my books with the children who are going to attend my presentation. The children will get so much more out of my visit if they are already familiar with one of my books and have discussed any possible questions that they might have.
BOOK SALES
I will provide you with order forms a month prior to my visit so that children can pre-order books and I can bring them and sign them on the day. The children do not need to pay for the books in advance. But of course any child who does not have money on the day, and who has not pre-ordered a book, will not be able to buy one.
I can sometimes arrange for a school book seller to be at the school on the day of my event.
